COVID-19 Information
We understand that everyone has a varying level of concern about the COVID-19 pandemic. As the organizers of this event we have to be responsible, acknowledge and plan for the need to help protect our participants. If you, or your child, are sick we ask that you stay home. Also if you are under any level of required quarantine we ask that you not attend the event either regardless of how precautionary that quarantine is.
As everyone knows this is a mostly outdoor event which inherently lowers, but in no way eliminates, transmission risk. You attend this event at your own risk.
We will address/accomplish our efforts to create a safe event in the following ways:
- Upon arriving at the campsite you may be asked to have your temperature taken by a Sunshine State Pow Wow Volunteer Staff or Westgate River Ranch Staff.
- You may also be asked a few specific questions upon arrival to see if you have been exposed to anyone with COVID or had any signs of COVID-like symptoms within the last 2 weeks plus.
- Federations will camp together. This allows for self policing and interactions at a level your federation has established for this camping season. This also allows for easily identifiable barriers for people not to enter other federations areas.
- You will be required to follow their COVID-19 protocol for any activities you participate in through Westgate River Ranch.
- All State Pow Wow sponsored activities will be mask required events. This is non-negotiable and includes all events in the tent, display and vendor areas. It is also strongly advised to wear a mask while moving around the camping area outside of your immediate tent/RV area.
- Masks are required while using any restroom, both permanent and temporary. The only exception is for time spent in a shower.
- Hand wash and sanitation stations will be set up all over the camp area. Please use them often.
- Please practice social distancing whenever possible
We believe that if everyone exercises the appropriate level of care, we can have a fun and safe event.
